ACTA: Reason why Canada should tell America to shove it

We all know Canada has been putting off updating its Copyright Law, and America has been breathing down our necks about implementing a law like their own DMCA. its no wonder America had been leading up secret talks on ACTA, a treaty that would open the doors to the DMCA, but why should Canada?

The DMCA is a nightmarish law that supports all kinds of wackiness in interpretation, and it actually infringe's our property rights. The DMCA puts the emphasis on the physical medium (the cd) instead of the intellectual property (the music). with measures to make sure we do not circumvent any kind of protection (even if its our own) we cannot make archival copies easily enough, nor even copy it over to different mediums its all a legally grey area. where here in canada its simple, when we buy a cd, we are really buying the right to play that song however we wish, weather it be in a cd player, on multiple computers, or on a mp3 player and make as many copies as we want for our own personal use.

by Canada signing ACTA, we would be opening the door to remodeling our Copyright law to look more like the DMCA, just so we could support the legalities of ACTA, which include a three strike rule for internet piracy. This is America's sneaky way of putting their foot in our door, i say shame on them, Canada should call them out for acting like a sleazebag salesman but our prime minister doesnt have the balls to tell america it should keep its ever reaching hands to themselves. and they have no right trying to influence our laws.
